Greetings from Sunny Boulder, CO!

The new year here at Grace Design, and things are more exciting than ever. While 08 marks our 14th year in business, we feel that we have just begun.

Last year brought many exciting developments from us, most notably the arrival of our m201 two channel mic preamplifier with A/D converter option. The m201 replaced the model 201 which we had been building since 1995, and not only cements our reputation as the standard for transparent mic amplification but for reference A/D converters as well. With its remarkable feature set and glorious high fidelity audio performance, the m201 is the new benchmark for transparent stereo audio recording.

Another remarkable thing for us has been the booming popularity of the m802 remote controlled mic amplifier. What was bleeding edge technology with the model 801r in 1999 has come into its own with the m802 and is now considered vital technology for countless major concert halls and remote recording facilities.

And this success has been mirrored with our flagship 5.1 monitor controller, the m906. As the industry was slowly realizing the value of reference monitor control systems, the m906 was already finding its way into a staggering array of music, film and television production facilities. A little ahead if its time, but now its time is here and the the m906 is living up to its promise.

Many exciting challenges lie ahead for 2008. Production is full tilt, the development table is a loaded and the engineering team is in high gear (do they really need to eat and sleep?). Which is all to say that we have some exciting new products on the way. So please, stay tuned!

New m902B Headphone Amplifier

We are now shipping production versions of our new m902B reference headphone amplifier.

The new m902B retains all of the features of the industry standard m902 headphone amp and adds fully balanced line outputs in lieu of the standard unit’s unbalanced outputs. The new version is a result of pro audio user’s wanting to utilize the m902 as a high-end, stand alone, stereo monitor controller in addition to the product’s reference headphone monitoring capabilities. The balanced, stereo line outputs of the m902B now provides a way for professionals to connect their stereo monitors via a fully balanced output pair.

The standard m902 will continue to be available to those customers who prefer unbalanced line outputs. Additionally, existing m902 users will be able to upgrade their units to include the balanced line outputs (click here for the RMA order form). The upgrade program is available directly to m902 customers from Grace Design, and interested customers can call 303-443-7454 for more information.

The m902B has an SRP of $1,850 (US).

Upgrading the firmware in V3 is easy.  We will send you a new chip (free!).  Simply pop the old chip out and plug the new one in.  Complete and submit the following form to begin the process.  Once you do so, anxiously await your new chip to arrive via the USPS in 7-10 business days.  Included with your new chip will be detailed upgrade instructions.  Be sure to schedule about 10 minutes of one-on-one time with your V3 to do the chip swap.  Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
